Another Advanced Adventures Manuscript Accepted!

Pending the contract signing, I've added another module to the AA line, bringing the line up to 31 modules with 25 currently published. I'm pleased to say that the line has done quite well and I believe we'll continue further with it. I'd love to see 40, 50, and even 60 modules eventually. Hell, lets not kid ourselves, I'd actually love to be publishing these 20 years from now. :-)

Thanks to all my writers! And to the artists that help give the modules their distinctive character as well!

A very old work, Facet’s Blode auf Kobalts is the most-commonly referenced biological assessment of the weakest and most numerous of humanoids. It is extensively illustrated, featuring detailed anatomical information. It’s obvious that Facet was not very comfortable in the common tongue, for age alone cannot explain the many odd constructions and spellings.

How To Stack The Submissions Deck In Your Favor..

As all of you know, I publish old-school adventures (and a lot of them, I must say). I accept manuscripts in almost any form (I don't accept boxed-text adventures, however) because I expect there to be great variation between presentation of all the old-school stuff.

Today, however, I got my first manuscript that is formatted the way that I format the Advanced Adventures line. Needless to say I am *very* well-disposed to the submission before even reading it. Now, here's to hoping the content and themes are as good a match to my vision for the Advanced Adventures line!

The last of the three known works of Culdee, The Lands of the Giants provides extensive maps regarding commonly-held giantish territory along with the migration paths of the transhumant hill giant tribes. The work is now rather outdated, but proves a good historical reference regarding the origination of many of the giantish tribes.

So I got some nice feedback on the cover and I'm giving it a second go. I think this one looks more fantasy and hopefully conveys the spirit of the game better than the first.

OSR Calendar Kickstarter Started!

Ok, ladies and gents, I've thrown my hat into the Kickstarter ring with a different kind of rpg-gaming-related project -the 2013 Old-School Renaissance Calendar!

I've spoken about this before and am going ahead with the project. It is a 12-month calendar that will have 12 brand-new OSR illustrations from artists involved in the OSR. Also the calendar will have dates of when OSR material was published as well as dates on when some of the important original material was published. Finally, I'm offering those who wish a chance to immortalize themselves or their games on the calendar by including a specific date of their choice - such as birthdays, fantasy holidays, etc...

I think the calendar will be a cool thing to hang on the wall, and I hope everyone else thinks the same. For a full-sized sample of what January will look like (sans-illustration of course) click here.

For this to be successful, I'll need your help. Please tell your gamer friends about it and lets get an OSR calender ready for the new year!

Worlds Apart Cover

Here's what the cover's going to look like. I've just commissioned all the art, so it looks like everything's a go. The low-res preview's a bit pixilated, but the full res isn't. :-)

There Will Be a Free Version of Worlds Apart

I've been working on smaller PDF only stuff that should release when Worlds Apart comes out. Since I've decided to release a non-art version for free, I'm trying to have some $2 PDF expansions out there to entice some people into forking over their hard-earned cash even if they only get the non-art version of the Worlds Apart core book (which is 96 pages, btw). :-)

So far I have a three PDFs done and am working the 4th. I hope to have 6 or 7 by the time Worlds Apart comes out in August or September, 2012.

Coconuts!

I'm working on an adventure for Worlds Apart and that's the title: Coconuts! A rather crazy idea came to me one night right before I went to sleep and I had to follow up on it. Hopefully it should be done when the core rules come out so that people can jump right into the game.

Worlds Apart: DONE!

Finally, I've got the layout done (just the credits and the cover left) and will begin commissioning art. It's been a long-time coming, and boy am I glad that it's finally done. :-)

Now, to create an adventure and/or some supplements for the game so when it comes out people will have something to jump right into.

XRP at Fantasy Grounds

Thought I should let everyone know that our entire 1-on-1 line is available at Fantasy Grounds. We've also got the first two of our 4e Lands of Darkness series available there as well. You can see all our products via this link and some previews for Pearls of Pohjola here.

I'm trying to convince them to get our Advanced Adventures line, but they don't have a working OSRIC system yet. They've been communicating with a developer on that matter and hopefully we'll see OSRIC pop up at Fantasy Grounds eventually.

Worlds Apart update

Worlds Apart is a little more than halfway laid out. It's proving to be a beast with all its tables. I'm very happy with the results so far. Now, back to the grindstone.
