One of the things that I've always thought a terrible mistake, especially since Hasbro purchased WotC, is the lack of D&D playsets for children. Any "generic fantasy" playset released should instead be branded with the D&D name. Playsets are a lot of fun for the very young and they could be a good introduction IMO.

I agree. I think a great transition from using one's imagination in a free form way to a more structured way in playing a game would be a great marketing tool. Imagine having actions figures that your child plays with transition into a miniature they now see in the game. Before they had fights they decided in imagination, now there is a game to help them see the abilities of their heroes or make their own that are even more awesome.
YES! Also, I had the Fortress of Fangs as a kid. My mom hated it because it was "ugly". Man, that thing was cool.....
Aw man, I had completely forgotten about that dungeon playset! My older brother had it, which meant it was mine by squatter's rights.
Hahaha, I'm going to have to design a dungeon inspired by this. I never knew it was called the "Fortress of Fangs."
Excellent point, branding like that seems like a no-brainer.
Yeah, I just don't get why they're not doing it. Seems terribly obvious to me.
